The multiplayer virtual reality attractions maker VRstudios recently announced its exclusive content released at Dave & Buster’s facilities around the country. Men in Black: Galactic Getaway is the fourth VR simulator title now playable at 125 D&B locations. A special leasing deal for the LAI Games unit Virtual Rabbids: The Big Ride was recently announced by distributor Betson. Called the industry’s first attendant-free VR attraction, it is available for lease at $1,745 a month for a 30-month term. The offer expires on June 30. Betson declares that the attraction earns in the neighborhood of $4,700 in a week at Northeast FECs, $2,700 a week at East Coast FECs, $2,500 a week in the Midwest, and $825 on the first day along at some FECs in the Southeast. The indoor-outdoor fun center C.J. Barrymore’s in Clinton Township, Mich., has some new rides, including a 120-foot-tall Saddle Sling/Daring Drop combo from Soaring Eagle Rides, a 110-foot-high Ferris wheel and a spinning coaster. The rides were formally dedicated May 17, according to the Macomb Daily, with visits from the county executive and a state senator at the ribbon-cutting ceremony with business owner Rick Iceberg. A new family entertainment center is planned for the Maine town of Sanford this fall, to be opened by the proprietors of Smitty’s Cinema. The FEC will be located right next to Smitty’s Cinema and will feature 10 bowling lanes, more than 50 arcade games, air hockey and a 100-seat bar and lounge area, according to the Journal Tribune. An entertainment center is a first for Smitty’s, which also has four other locations.
