After a heated, drunken argument at a bar in the small South African town of Bergville, a man allegedly threw a live grenade through the tavern’s door. According to owner Lindi Madonsela, the blast was dampened thanks to the pool table situated in the middle of the establishment. After the grenade was thrown, it rolled under the life-saving pool table, keeping the damage minimal and saving many lives. The Montana Coin Machine Operators Assn. (MCMOA) met for their summer get-together on July 27 and 28 at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in Anaconda. TouchTunes is joining the recent Pokémania that’s gripped the world since the release of Pokémon Go, an innovative app game that broke records for the most downloads in Apple’s App Store in a single day. The New Jersey Amusement Assn. has announced plans for its 19th annual Fritz Rolle Legacy Golf Outing. It will be held in Little Egg Harbor, N.J., on Sept. 20 at the Sea Oaks Golf Club. The entry fee is $200 per person, and includes lunch, a day of golfing, cocktail hour and dinner. Money raised from the outing is in benefit of the Give Kids the World Village, a 70-acre nonprofit “storybook” resort where children with life-threatening illnesses can have their dreams made into reality. On Aug. 3, Edison’s Entertainment Complex in Edwardsville, Ill., will be hosting an open house for youth and adult bowlers interested in learning about the company’s fall bowling leagues. According to Gold Coast International’s Marc Haim, it’s a film about the nostalgic Chinatown Fair which he says is the last “traditional arcade” left in NYC. Located on Mott Street in Chinatown, it’s reopened after six years in limbo thanks to Marc’s customer Lonnie Sobel.
