Raw Thrills’ The Walking Dead, a video game based on a graphic novel that became AMC’s hugely popular TV show, is set to premiere at this year’s IAAPA show. Shipping will be some time in 2017. News leaked out after RePlay contributor Adam Pratt (Endgame) got an anonymous tip that an early version of the game was out on test. Liberty Games has created a hilarious slideshow of spoof video games they’d like to find in an arcade one day. Their spoofs include gems such as the arcade fighter Life of Brian Immortal Kombat, the musically challenging Ron Burgundy’s Jazz Flute Hero and the rhythm-based catwalk game Zoolander Walk-Off Walk-Off Arcade. The Minnesota Operators of Music and Amusements has announced the recipients of their annual $1,000 scholarships: Joe McDonald (Vermillion Community College); Amanda Preisinger (Winona State University); Gwen Jutz (Mankato State University); Casie Allred (University of Wisconsin River Falls); Mitch Lorentz (Mankato State University); and Elizabeth Carlson (University of Wisonsin Superior). As reported in AMOA’s recent Off the Top newsletter, a bill introduced in the House on July 17 by Rep. Kyle Schrader (D-OR) has been gaining momentum during the break on Capitol Hill. The bill, H.R. 5813, is designed to help businesses ease into potential costs caused by the change in Department of Labor regulations governing overtime exemption rules for certain employees.
