The Minnesota Operators of Music and Amusements (MOMA) held its annual summer conference from June 14-16 in northern Minnesota’s Brainerd Lakes Area at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge. The conference was well attended by operators from Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota, AMOA’s new President Rick LaFleur, and manufacturer representatives.

The main topics of discussion were pool and dart leagues, with coordinators from around the three states meeting to discuss this year’s MOMA state pool and darts tournaments, and begin planning for 2018’s.

NDA Executive Director Jack Kelleher and AMOA Executive Director Lori Schneider provided updates to the gathered operators about the state of the industry and legislative efforts. There were also seminars presented by Heartland Payment Systems and NDA’s Kelleher.

In addition to association business, attendees were given time to enjoy several different activities including golf, fishing, a lake cruise and what was christened as the first annual Rick LaFleur foosball tournament. Guests also participated in a hunt for which clues were given every few hours about the location of the hidden medallion. Molly Stewart of Lieberman Companies pieced the puzzle together first!

Before the meeting closed on Friday, the following officers were elected for 2018: Tom Graham, Jr. (Past President), Shawn Dean (President), Andrew Schmitz (Vice President), Terry O’Hara (Secretary) and Bob Thomas (Treasurer).
