Elaut and S&B Entertainment/St. Louis Game Co. (SLGC) reached a settlement in a lawsuit claiming S&B infringed on Elaut patents. The suit involved Elaut’s patent for color-changing LED lights used in crane machines. As part of the settlement, Elaut granted S&B and SLGC a license to use the LED patent for their full line of linked color-changing crane machines – which includes the Neon World (pictured), Ticket World, Prize Rocket, Duck World, Carnival Crane and Route 66. Benchmark Games is ready to show off three new products coming off the factory floor for this year’s IAAPA: Total Eclipse, Space Jump and Ticket Station. ICE’s Waterfuls game is all set to blast some nostalgia into folks who played the original, simple game from the toy company Tomy in the ’80s and ’90s. Uptown Alley, a family entertainment center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, recently installed a 24-player Helios Laser Tag system and 3,000-square-foot, cyber-attack-themed arena at its facility. “When we decided to build our first FEC, we wanted to make sure we had a variety of attractions that appealed to a wide range of customers,” said Todd Britton, owner of Uptown Alley, in a press release. “Much like bowling, laser tag is something pretty much anyone can enjoy.” Uptown Alley was formerly Academy Lanes, which closed in late April for the renovation and rebranding. Virtuix, developer behind the Omni VR treadmill, has joined with Funovation in a new 4-player VR attraction: the VR ARENA. The companies say the ARENA focuses on providing “an eSports experience for everyone,” and is powered by the Omniverse, Virtuix’s content platform that features 18 VR games.
