The Japanese-owned Round1 Bowling & Amusement is putting down more U.S. roots at Gateway Mall in Lincoln, Neb., opening a place there sometime in spring 2019, according to the Lincoln Journal Star. The 50,000-square-foot FEC will offer bowling, arcade games and pool tables in addition to a restaurant and bar. The company, which has its U.S. operations based in California, is quickly growing with new locations all across the country. It has about 20 centers open with plans for nearly 20 more in the works. Joe Zumsteg, a veteran salesman for Rhode Island Novelty and Classic Toy, has passed. The New Jersey Amusement Assoc., in sharing the news yesterday (4/23), said he will be remembered by many friends, customers and associates for his passion and commitment to the carnival and amusement industry. Zumsteg passed away at his home in suburban Western Springs, Ill., on the morning of April 19. He had been fighting brain cancer for some time. Additionally, NJAA announced that there will be no bereavement services, fitting with the humble nature of Zumsteg.

A Kroger grocery store will become a trampoline park late this summer, according to The Tennessean. The 25,000-square-foot supermarket space will soon be occupied by Richard and Kandace Martin, residents of the Hendersonville, Tenn., city where they’ll be opening All Air Extreme Trampoline Park. “We always felt like Hendersonville was the perfect place for it,” said Richard.
