After debuting the animated short Cyclesat last August’s Computer Animation Festival in Vancouver, B.C., Disney recently greenlit another “top secret” virtual reality project, according to CNET. All we know is it will be another animated VR short from Jeff Gipson, the director of Cycles. Changes are on the horizon for the former Nickel City arcade in sunny San Diego, Calif. Now called City Fun Center, the space has gone from small neighborhood arcade to full-blown entertainment center. In addition to new attractions like laser tag, a laser maze and Time Freak, a fast-paced competition game, the location also now serves beer and wine. The AAMA’s charitable foundation is once again soliciting donations for its annual Amusement Expo International Honor Roll fundraiser, aiming to raise $37,500 by the end of the trade show. AAMA supports The Sunrise Association, Children’s Miracle Network, K.E.E.N. and many other organizations, and helped raise $112,500 in 2018. The organization has four different donation levels for the Honor Roll (Platinum, $1,800; Gold, $1,000; Silver, $500; and Bronze, $300).
