The prominent pinball pro Doug Skor has found a new home at Stern Pinball, the company announcing today (May 29) that Skor will take up the job of Director of Export Sales. Reporting to Chief Revenue Officer John Buscaglia, he will work alongside CEO Gary Stern to service and grow export markets. Skor comes to Stern with a long background of pin experience, including his most recent gig as VP of Chicago Gaming Company. “At long last,” proclaims the Tucson Foodie, “Tucson will soon have its first bar arcade.” A partnership between co-owners Ariel Bracamonte, Chuckie Duff and restaurant group Genuine Concepts, Cobra Arcade Bar will open in late May or early June. The 5,000-square-foot location may be the first in Tucson, but it’s the second under that name (the other is in the Arizona capital Phoenix). A new organizational structure is in place and has been on-location in Wheeling, Ill., making arrangements for the big event. The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y., recently acquired a collection of tens of thousands of pages of archival materials documenting the history of three of the most important American coin-op game and pinball manufacturers of the 20th century — Bally, Williams and Midway. Raw Thrills, in collaboration with Play Mechanix and 343 Industries, is about to introduce a new arcade game based on the wildly-popular Halo series, an Xbox exclusive franchise. Called Halo: Fireteam Raven, it’s a four-player shooter where people join in the events of the original Halo storyline from an all new perspective, assisting the titular character Master Chief defeat a horde of alien forces. West Acres Shopping Center in Fargo, N.D. is getting some new tenants this summer, including Game On, an arcade with a planned opening date of June 1, according to the Grand Forks Herald. Last Sunday (May 13), Brady Distributing patriarch Jon P. was admitted to the hospital after suffering what looked a heart attack, but which turned out to be a complication from the diabetes he’s had for many years. After being admitted, he came around a bit, but then fell while getting out of bed, fracturing his skull. He was moved to the Neurosurgery ICU at Carolinas Medical Center where his son, Jon W. Brady of Player One, said his dad was placed on a ventilator after suffering two strokes. Gratefully, he has since improved enough to have the ventilator removed. Young…
