As The Motley Fool reported last week, Dave & Buster’s stock was surging as locations began to reopen around the country. At one point, shares had been trading at 24% higher. “The reopening is far ahead of Wall Street’s timetable when fear ran high in March,” the article said. “Maybe this, too, contributes to Dave & Buster’s stock gains. Consider that short interest in this stock – people betting against it – increased throughout March and April, according to data available from Nasdaq. … But now that Dave & Buster’s is reopening, many are rethinking those short positions.” D&B had…

With safety concerns abound in the FEC community, Andamiro has decided to make Personal Player Shields for player protection between their Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and SpongeBob Pineapple Arcade games. “Several partitioning products have been introduced over the past two months, many of them appearing to be self-supporting bulkheads that can be arbitrarily placed between individual games,” the company added. “Andamiro’s solutions are specific to its games, creating a protective barrier and precise fit between two player stations on single cabinets.” The company is seeking input from operators on demand for the products, which should ship to operators at the…

There’s also a handy store locator feature. “We at Funcity always strive to increase customer convenience coupled with strong customer focus,” said company topper Tarun Rangwani. “The SmartFun app is in that direction and it becomes more…
Some Pennsylvania bowling alleys and bars shared their struggles with GoErie.com recently; most are uncertain about their futures as partial reopenings don’t ensure they’ll be able to stay open. Mark Wattle, owner of Greengarden Lanes, said he’s worried about the business’s survival. He’s still unable to open, but has decided to offer takeout from the kitchen on Fridays and Saturdays. “It’s just putting a small Band-Aid on a big wound,” he said. “Our businesses have shut down, but the bills don’t stop.” Even if bowling alleys reopen this summer in Pennsylvania, Wattle and David Kacprowicz of Eastland Bowl both agreed:…
The Dave & Buster’s location in Honolulu, Hawaii, will be reopened today, June 5, according to the company, which has been opening many of their game rooms around the country recently with new safety protocols. KHON reported that D&B will be giving out $10 game cards to all first responders and health care professionals. From a COVID-19 perspective, they wrote, “We have been hard at work making sure that when the time comes and deemed safe in your local communities that we are ready with plans that prioritize the health and safety of our guests and team members.” Some of…
Funny Bone Toledo, a comedy club in the northern Ohio city, will have a new look when the doors reopen. They’ve converted the restaurant side of the venue to Draftcade, an arcade bar franchise that operates vintage arcade games. According to the Toledo Blade, the dining side of the business was previously occupied by Fat Fish Blue for the last 12 years. “It will be fun for people going to the comedy club and they’ll have games to play if they’re going to the later show,” said manager Nadia Castilleja. “It took off well in Kansas City, so we decided…

Authorities in Philadelphia recently apprehended a suspect who allegedly played a role in a string of explosive ATM robberies. According to local news reports, undercover officers arrested Taleb Crump for attempting to sell homemade dynamite to undercover officers. “Mr. Crump, who bragged on social medial that using dynamite was better than bullets for robbing an ATM, offered up explicit instructions on how to best set dynamite up to blow up an ATM,” said Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro. Authorities estimate that at least 50 ATMs in the Philadelphia area were broken into using explosives from the last week of May…
In a letter to legislators, AAMA has advocated against places that are forbidding video games, pinball machines, pool tables and other amusement devices from being put back into operation as the U.S. begins to reopen from the coronavirus lockdown. “In many cases, restaurants, retail centers, salons and the like are being allowed to reopen at varying levels, but not amusement games and arcades,” the letter read, in part. “We’ve learned this is happening in states where restrictions on approved gambling devices have been lifted, but not amusement games which are often located in the same venue as the gambling device.”…
The Three Amigos of F2FEC – Ben Jones, Rick Iceberg and George Smith – have announced their plans for a “renewed and different trade experience” in 2021 with the theme “RISE.” They anticipate an early March event for the face-to-face event. F2FEC pushed the pause button after their 2019 gathering, opting not to host an event in 2020. Now, they’re back with the deliberately-chosen Rise theme. “RISE was already determined in 2019, but the world has changed and what is different today for the Amigos is the context for Rise,” they wrote. What was then is no longer now: What…
