The former Mountasia, now MB2 Entertainment, is now open in Santa Clarita, California. According to KHTS, the business held a soft opening on April 27. The venue has some of the same attractions as Mountasia, including go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats and mini-golf. New attractions include duckpin bowling, sports simulators and a bar, as well as new dining options. It was opened by the owners of nearby MB2 Raceway, Chris and Martine Brooks and Will and Stefanee Miller. Arcade Legacy announced on May 2 that they’re closing two existing locations and combining them into a brand-new location in Sharonville, Ohio, which should be open by September. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the company will close the locations in Northside and Forest Fair Village while the location in Newport will remain open. The final day at Arcade Legacy: Bar Edition in Northside will be May 23 and Forest Fair Village will remain open through July. Ed Kovens, the second-generation leader of A&A Global Industries, died April 29 at the age of 82, the company sadly reported. “Gracious, kind, giving and compassionate are words used to describe Ed Kovens,” they said. “These words come not only from family, but from his friends, employees and everyone who had the privilege to meet him.” Ed joined his father Irv in the business in June of 1953. Surge Private Equity recently announced its investment in Bar Partners, a vending and amusement company. Under the $50 million deal, Bar Partners will merge with Surge’s existing portfolio company, Amuze Products. According to Business Wire, the combined entity will service more than 1,500 customers across all 50 states and provide more than 80 SKUs for end customers.
