After a heated, drunken argument at a bar in the small South African town of Bergville, a man allegedly threw a live grenade through the tavern’s door. According to owner Lindi Madonsela, the blast was dampened thanks to the pool table situated in the middle of the establishment. After the grenade was thrown, it rolled under the life-saving pool table, keeping the damage minimal and saving many lives.
According to the town’s local newspaper, it was business as usual the next morning, with many people drinking as if nothing had happened. An arrest was made and the suspect is set to appear in court this week.
