Coin Buy-Back in Wisconsin

Here’s a true first! Retired Valley chief Chuck Milhem sent RePlay a note saying Wisconsin’s Community State Bank began a coin buy-back program recently that gives an extra $5 to anyone who brings $100 worth of coins to any of their 11 branches.

You don’t even have to be a regular customer of the bank to get the bonus, he said. Bank officials say the program ends when their needs have been met. This coin shortage (which we’ve reported on here and here) is blamed on the coronavirus.
