Scene75 has opened its Romeoville location. The 135,000-sq.-ft. entertainment center features electric go-karts, a spinning roller coaster, arcade games, a spinning two-story drop tower, a multilevel laser tag arena, two mini-golf courses and much more. According to Patch, other attractions at the facility include an inflatable bouncing and toddler area, bumper cars, mini-bowling, batting cages, a laser maze, a food court and private party rooms. The 2022 World Air Hockey Championships took place Aug. 12-14 at the University of Houston Hilton in Texas. More than 90 competitors from around the country took part in the event, which crowned a champion and determined new U.S. Air Hockey Assn. rankings. Colin Cummings of San Antonio was once again the winner, claiming his incredible seventh USAA world title for the fifth year in a row. K&A Mini Golf, which opened its one-acre, ADA-compliant course in 2019 in Cambridge, Minn., has now added a 12-player laser tag course based on the video game series Call of Duty. “I wanted the laser tag to be as family-friendly as possible,” said owner Mike Hout, adding that they passed on game systems with more realistic looking guns. According to the Isanti-Chisago County Star, the mini-golf venue also has volleyball and a water balloon game called Water Wars. The laser tag’s grand opening was Aug. 13. Visitors to Snowdonia National Park will now be able to experience the area in a whole new way. Frontgrid has installed what they say is the U.K.’s first location-based VR flying experience – Fly Mt. Snowdon – at Adventure Parc Snowdonia on their ParadropVR platform. Round1 opened their latest entertainment center Aug. 13 at the South Hill Mall in Puyallup, Washington. The 52,000-sq.-ft. facility, located next to Macy’s, offers arcade games, bowling, billiards, ping-pong, music and more. According to The News Tribune, there’s also a lounge area for patrons to eat and drink. Plans for private party rooms with karaoke are in the works. Home to “more than 15 acres of fun,” Grand Prix Tampa permanently closed Aug. 1 after more than four decades of providing go-karting and mini-golf to the community.
