The IAAPA Expo was full of brand new games, from ticket redemption to classic arcade to futuristic VR. One of those, Tight Rope by Andamiro USA Corp., happens to tap into what makes a game great, regardless of genre or technology. Tight Rope challenges its players to take a high-wire unicycle ride with easy to learn, tough to master controls and incentivizing, skill-based ticket rewards.
The entertaining game takes players through several high-wire adventures, complete with moving obstacles that become increasingly treacherous. Three courses – strung over a city, islands and ancient ruins – are open to the player, each giving the objective of completing a 600-foot-long course for a 1,000-point bonus. The game features a pedal-style controller, meant to emulate a crank axle on a unicycle, that the player uses to control speed.
