Sega’s Joypolis VR concept and Spaces VR are teaming up to open a new VR attraction near Tokyo’s Shibuya train station, one of the busiest transit hubs in the world. The new attraction will open Oct. 25. Spaces, which opened its first center in August in Orange County, Calif., will bring its four-person VR experience and its Terminator Salvation-themed game to the Tokyo location.

“Guests that visit the brand new Joypolis VR location in Shibuya will transform into a Terminator and see their friends faces inside our extended reality (XR) experience, it’s like nothing else,” says Shiraz Akmal, CEO and co-founder of Spaces. “Our attractions are truly global and appeal to audiences around the world. We are honored to bring our high-quality experiences to guests in Tokyo — our first overseas location — with heart-pounding, interactive adventure that you can enjoy with your friends and family.”

Additionally, Spaces recently worked with the National Geographic Museum to guide over 400 people through a shared theater experience. The event at the Grosvenor Auditorium was outfitted and designed by the Spaces team, and takes guests through a live speaker presentation augmented by VR film and photographs captured by Nat Geo media-makers in the field. National Geographic hopes to use VR to connect audiences with journalists making a substantial impact on the planet.
