Outrun Brewing Co. Opens in Stone Mountain

Celebrating its grand opening on July 3, Outrun Brewing Co. opened its doors in Stone Mountain, Ga., last week. The craft brewery with an ’80s vibe is named after OutRun, the 1986 Sega racing video game.

“We want to play off of people’s nostalgia, but make it for today’s age,” said Josh Miller, one of the owners. He and co-owner Ryan Silva said they’re trying to evoke “an easygoing, approachable, relaxed attitude, and the ’80s embody that.”

The brewery’s 5-barrel system will put out four to five beers to start, with no more than 10 beers total when they’re brewing at full capacity, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. The smaller-than-typical output is by design, to relieve people of “choice fatigue,” Miller said.
