George and Howard McAuliffe of Pinnacle Entertainment Group (and RePlay column fame!) have been selected to present FEC-focused seminars at the upcoming Bowl Expo in Las Vegas (June 17-21). The father/son duo will head two back-to-back seminars at the Expo oriented toward those interested in understanding game room profits and bowling center synergy.
“George and I are excited to be back at Bowl Expo this year,” said Howard. “The marriage of bowling and the FEC gets stronger every year. We intend to take it up a notch in terms of presentation format and quality of content.”
In their first seminar, the McAuliffes will discuss how to get past the common “shoot from the hip,” opinion-based method of key purchasing and operational decisions. Using actual case studies, they’ll illustrate their fine-tuned approach to game buying and guest experience. Following that seminar, they’ll dive into analyzing games, merchandising practices, pricing adjustments and marketing techniques, as well as examine the future of virtual reality in bowling centers.
“Our operating philosophy starts with the fact that once you’re past the breakeven on operating expenses, 85 percent of every dollar spent in the game room falls to the bottom line,” George concluded. “Capturing that incremental spending is what separates the great game rooms from the merely good.”
