Duke’s Birthday Fundraiser Outperforms Expectations

There are many wishes a man can request for his birthday, but none more heartfelt than this. Sacoa’s Brian Duke asked his friends on Facebook to donate to the nonprofit Allen Duke Memorial Foundation, which was set up to honor his late son who had been struck and killed by an SUV. At this writing, his friends and industry colleagues had donated nearly $2,000.

“For my birthday this year, forget about me,” Brian asked folks. “I’m hoping for donations to the Allen Duke Memorial Foundation to help keep his memory living on at Fort Lewis College and his selfless work going thru establishing a tutor center on campus in his name. “I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me and is my life’s work now, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal and is 100% tax deductible and every penny goes to making his dream a reality.”

There are still around 30 hours left for donations to come through, so let’s all do our part to remember and honor a wonderful family struck by tragedy. Click here to check out the fundraiser.
