Delaware Arcade Bar Closes Permanently

After being closed for more than three months due to COVID-19 shutdowns, 1984 – an arcade bar in Wilmington, Del. – will not reopen. The ’80s-themed arcade also held live music performances.

According to The Washington Post, co-owner Matt Morrissette wrote on Facebook: “We have the dubious pleasure of being almost comically ill-suited for these troubled times – video games and packed, sweaty DIY shows being our bread and butter.”

1984 opened up more than eight years ago, and quickly became an “integral part of the upstate original music scene,” featuring local and national acts alike. Wish them farewell at www.facebook.com/1984Wilmington.
