BullShooter Enjoys Largest State Regional Yet

Pennsylvania saw a huge crowd of darters at its Feb. 9-11 state regional tourney, with organizers saying it was the largest attended regional event ever. Players gathered at the Doubletree in Pittsburgh, coming from all over the state, New York, Ohio and West Virginia. Betson Pittsburgh Distributing sponsored the event.

Friday night saw $4,000 paid out to players during the Blind Draw, while the main events over the weekend paid out over $18,000 to winners. Kay Hoover and Micki Hughes (seen to the right) were names to watch, winning the Women’s Doubles and Combo together while Hoover took home the Singles trophy. In Men’s, Ryan Wile and Dan Shields won Pro/Am Cricket, while Brad Ferguson and Levi Bilger won Pro Men’s Doubles 501.

Nebraska’s regional tourney was next on the docket, with players swarming to the Cornhusker state for another competitive darting shootout. Greater America Distributing and NTS Dart-Tech co-sponsored the tourney. In Women’s Doubles, Carrie Nielsen and Angela McGinnis took home first, while Aimee Ostdiek won the singles trophy. Zachary Steiner and Eric Earley (pictured left) won Men’s Doubles 501 and Curtis Strite won Men’s Singles Cricket.

The BullShooter Finals are coming up soon as well, wrapping up the nationwide dart tourney tour with a five day shootout in Chicago. Winners of regional tournaments are awarded with cash as well as a qualification to compete in the finals, ensuring that the stakes will be high and competition fierce.
