One of Industry’s Best, Jon P. Brady, Passes On

Family, former employees and friends of Jon P. Brady are mourning the loss of one of coin-op’s true Southern Gentlemen. Jon, who resided in his later years in a nursing home nearby his home city of Charlotte, N.C., suffered a heart attack the night of July 1 and is now part of industry history.

The son of Brady Distributing founder C.B. Brady (pictured at right with Jon P.) and its leader during coin-op’s most prosperous years, Jon’s own son Jon W. Brady closed the family dealership up some years back and joined the Player One Group as their V.P. of Business Development. Besides him and his brother Chris, his father is survived by his well-known wife Gwen and several grandchildren.

Jon P. was recognized during his career as one of distribution’s most important figures. His firm handled just about all of the top game brands along with full line vending machinery and a whale of a parts and service department. His talents were recognized by the AAMA as their Man of the Year at a lavish charity fundraiser during one of their Las Vegas Amusement Expo’s. He was a great man at the desk, in the showroom and also on the golf links, his second favorite thing to do. May he rest in God’s peace.

Beyond coin machines, Jon made a difference. In this photo, he is seen donating to the University of North Carolina.
