VNEA World Pool Championships Next Week; Junior Champs In June

The VNEA “Valley League” is hosting its windup tournament of the year next week in Las Vegas, from May 25 to June 4, at Bally’s Hotel and Casino. The event will feature six different divisions – Sports, Redemption, Regular, Resurrection, Intermediate, Masters – all of which will have impressive prize pools for the respective champs.

Two giant ballrooms will be packed with nearly 300 Valley tables, and competitive pool will be interspersed with raffles, performances and more. The Awards Banquet finale will play host to cash drawings and thousands of dollars of payouts. The event will also have an Artistic Pool competition where experts will compete to make the craziest and most cunning shots.

 In other VNEA news, the association’s annual youth pool championships will be in Erie, Penn., from June 16-19. The event, hosted at the Bayfront Convention Center, will feature an “impressive” opening ceremony, a player’s reception, artistic and speed pool challenges and of course the tournament itself, which will be played out on 80 Valley tables.

Over 300 Juniors will be at the tournament, which has three divisions: Youth (7-13), Minor (14-17) and Major (18-20). Applicants need six weeks of league play to qualify, and entry for the tournament will remain open until June 1.
