David Cohen Steps into the Limelight

This year’s recipient of AAMA’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Firestone Financial’s David Cohen, is being further celebrated in the association’s annual, philanthropic souvenir ad journal. Proceeds will go to American Amusement Machine Charitable Foundation (AAMCF), and will add to the $165,000 the association has already raised since they began publishing the journals three years ago.

The well-admired Cohen began his career in the industry at Firestone, joining the firm in 1986. He was appointed president and CEO in 2000. Today, he provides direction for the strategic initiatives of the company (now owned by Berkshire Bank), participates in new business development, serves as a member of the Senior Credit Committee and leads the planning and policy-making functions of Firestone.

Cohen has been a board member of AAMA for 12 years, serving as chairman from 2009-2011, and is now co-chair of the group’s Government Relations Committee. In addition, he is president of the AAMCF Board, a post he’s held for five years (he’s been on its board for 15). During Cohen’s time on AAMCF Board, the foundation has raised more than $575,000 as a direct result of programs and initiatives he helped establish.

AAMA asks those interested to place a congratulatory ad in the award journal, which will be distributed during its annual awards dinner on Oct. 5. Net proceeds support children’s charities including Children’s Miracle Network and Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN). This year, the AAMA has also established a GoFundMe campaign where ads can be purchased. Find that here or email [email protected] for more information.
